Melaina is Georgian Bay Métis and has worked alongside Indigenous community members for over 16 years in food security, revitalizing traditional food systems, and in the homelessness sector, under Reaching Home. She has been leading the development of Coordinated Access in Cowichan using a decolonizing approach since 2022.

Sarah is embarking on her 10th year working in the housing and homelessness response sector. Her work in community development centers the lived and living expertise of the street community and frontline staff. She values working with the Nations and urban Indigenous providers in the Cowichan region as the Coordinated Access Lead under Reaching Home.
